SCHOOL DISTRICT SERVICES

School based and preschool practice is a highly specialized area of practice for physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language pathologists.  In depth knowledge of the role of the therapist in the school setting is essential to providing quality service.  The Mandel Therapy Group has been providing school based and preschool services to school districts in a 4 county area for over 20 years.  The Mandel Therapy Group presently provides related services to over 500 children in a 4 county area.

At the Mandel Therapy Group, our therapists are trained in the Federal and State legislation that defines their role and scope of practice in the school environment.  Educational relevance is of utmost importance when evaluating students and providing treatments in school.  All evaluations are personally reviewed by the practice owner, Dana Mandel, PT, PCS, to insure educational relevance and eliminate jargon.  A team based approach, including input from teachers and families, is reinforced.  We utilize many models of service delivery, including direct treatments, classroom push in therapy sessions, group sessions, consultative sessions, and periodic checks.  We work directly with your teachers and staff to provide an educationally relevant and cost effective service.  We design programs for the classroom and home that allows us to role release our therapeutic intervention and provide support in the least restrictive environment.

We maintain all records, including obtaining release forms from parents and physician prescriptions in accordance with FERPA regulations.  We assist in the Medicaid documentation process to help your district receive reimbursement.  We distribute reports to parents, teachers, school administrators, and physicians from our central office in King Ferry.  Our therapists are familiar with many computer based documentation systems, including “IEP Direct”.  We track attendance at CSE meetings, report submission, and time sensitive deadlines.
